TACO Sessions

The Corona Pandemic has us all rethinking how we connect with the world. My solution has been to challenge myself to continue to engage as both an educator and an artist, despite the limitations of social distancing.

The “TACO” sessions (a mash-up of the first two letters of TAmuk and COrona) explore this challenge in two formats:

  1. Live online master classes, each exploring a different piece of standard repertoire as a “taco:” the fundamentals that hold the piece together, and the specific challenges that make up the filling.

  2. Recorded performances of pieces I have never performed before. Afterward, I discuss some of my practice strategies in learning a work for the first time.

THANKS FOR PARTICIPATING!

The TACO master classes have wrapped for this Spring, but thanks so much for joining me! All the custom warm-up exercises are available below, for your convenience.

PREVIOUS SESSIONS

TACO master classes thus far have explored Debussy’s Syrinx, Bloch’s Suite Modale, Faure’s Fantasie and Persichetti’s Parable for Solo Piccolo. Each session features a specially-designed warm-up, built around the fundamentals of the work.
